Some careers are built through carefully planned milestones, while others emerge from an unwavering willingness to follow a deeper sense of purpose. The most influential transformational leaders often stand at the intersection of lived experience, lifelong learning and an enduring belief that meaningful change begins within. Rather than offering quick solutions, they challenge people to question long-held assumptions, confront invisible barriers and discover possibilities that have remained hidden beneath the surface.
In a world increasingly shaped by technology, uncertainty and rapid change, this human-centered approach to transformation has become more relevant than ever, encouraging individuals to reconnect with resilience, clarity and purpose. The growing conversation around emotional intelligence, conscious leadership and personal growth continues to highlight the importance of those who inspire lasting change from the inside out.
Among these voices is Verlaine Crawford, Ph.D. (hc), Transformational Coach and Visionary Guide, International Best-Selling Author and Inspirational Speaker, and CEO/Founder of High Castle Publishing. Drawing on a journey that spans executive leadership, publishing, coaching and decades of exploring the connection between mindset, intuition and human potential, she has developed a philosophy that blends practical insight with personal transformation. Her work reflects a commitment to helping individuals move beyond limiting beliefs, embrace conscious growth and create lives aligned with purpose. Through coaching, books, speaking engagements and publishing initiatives, Verlaine continues to encourage people across the world to view transformation not as a destination but as an ongoing evolution of self, one guided by authenticity, awareness and the courage to embrace new possibilities.

Following Intuition, Inspiring Transformation
For Verlaine, transformation has never been a profession alone; it has been a lifelong calling. Today, she is recognized as a transformational coach, visionary guide, international best-selling author, inspirational speaker and CEO and Founder of High Castle Publishing. Yet her journey began in the corporate world, where years spent in executive marketing for global organizations quietly laid the foundation for a purpose that would ultimately reach far beyond business.
Even while building a successful executive career, Verlaine immersed herself in psychology, healing modalities and metaphysics. She viewed business as more than a commercial pursuit; it was an opportunity to better understand people, decision-making and the invisible forces that shape success. The principles she studied not only enhanced her professional achievements but also transformed her personal life, convincing her that intuition was often the most reliable guide in navigating both.
From her early twenties, she cultivated a habit that would shape much of her life’s direction. She wrote detailed lists of the goals she wanted to achieve, assigning timelines to each one while trusting her intuition to reveal the path forward. Rather than following conventional routes, she often found herself on what she describes as “treasure hunts,” where unexpected opportunities gradually unfolded into remarkable outcomes.
Her curiosity was fueled by James Allen’s As a Man Thinketh, the first of countless books, workshops and seminars that deepened her understanding of human potential. Inspired by what she learned, Verlaine enthusiastically encouraged others to create their own vision lists. Yet one question refused to leave her mind: why did some goals manifest while others remained frustratingly out of reach?
The answer emerged through one of the darkest periods of her life.
After surviving a violent stabbing in a parking garage an incident that occurred after she ignored an intuitive warning telling her to “Run!” Verlaine faced the emotional challenges of post-traumatic stress disorder. The recovery process became far more than physical healing. It evolved into an intensive exploration of why people unconsciously create painful experiences and why deeply desired goals sometimes fail to materialize.
That search fundamentally reshaped her understanding of human behavior.
“We think of ourselves as Captain of our Ship, Master of Our Fate. But I see it as a pirate ship, and the crew is planning mutiny!”
The metaphor became the cornerstone of her transformational philosophy. Verlaine believes the subconscious mind contains numerous “subpersonalities” that preserve deeply rooted beliefs. Although these internal parts often believe they are protecting individuals, they can unknowingly sabotage financial success, relationships, health and creative expression.
Over time, she recognized that lasting transformation requires more than positive thinking. Subconscious beliefs influence thoughts, language and emotions, which ultimately shape decisions, behaviors and personal reality itself. Understanding this led Verlaine to develop her own Infusion Integration Process, a methodology designed to reconcile conflicting internal beliefs and help individuals achieve genuine emotional alignment.
The process forms the foundation of her latest book, The Power of Wholeness, reflecting her conviction that sustainable success begins with inner integration rather than external accomplishment.
“My purpose is to help as many people as possible awaken to their own greatness.”
That purpose continues to guide every aspect of her work, from coaching and speaking engagements to writing and publishing.
Publishing with Purpose, Leading with Vision
As CEO and Founder of High Castle Publishing, Verlaine has built far more than a publishing company. She has created a platform dedicated to helping people expand their awareness and discover their highest potential through books, workshops, educational videos and films.
Her long-term vision reflects a belief that humanity is entering one of the most significant transitions in its history. While artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming industries, Verlaine believes it represents only one stage in humanity’s evolution. Beyond AI, she envisions an era shaped by what she calls Universal Intelligence, a deeper consciousness available to those willing to approach life with an open mind and heart.
Rather than viewing technology as something to fear, she encourages people to combine innovation with inner wisdom.
“People are far more than their bodies and minds. They are something much greater.”
Central to Verlaine’s philosophy is the belief that every individual is a spiritual being experiencing life through physical form. She believes people are continually supported by the Angelic Realm and guided through intuition, inner knowing and moments of unexpected clarity. Learning to recognize and trust that guidance, she says, enables people to navigate change with greater confidence and purpose.
This perspective shapes not only her personal mission but also the direction of High Castle Publishing, where every initiative is designed to inspire personal growth while encouraging individuals to discover the fullest expression of themselves.
The Human Side of Leadership
Over decades of coaching leaders, entrepreneurs and individuals seeking personal transformation, Verlaine has learned that trust cannot be built through expertise alone. While structured coaching methodologies have their place, lasting relationships are established through authenticity, empathy and genuine care.
She attributes much of her effectiveness as a coach to remaining open-minded while drawing wisdom from both her successes and life’s most difficult experiences. Rather than positioning herself as someone with every answer, she approaches each client with curiosity and a sincere desire to understand their unique journey.
Her commitment to effective communication has also been strengthened through extensive study of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which she considers invaluable for building rapport and creating meaningful human connections.
Yet Verlaine believes something even more fundamental determines whether people choose to trust a leader.
“Every individual can read energy, whether they are consciously aware of it or not.”
According to Verlaine, people instinctively recognize authenticity. They know when someone genuinely wants to help and when compassion is merely performative. For that reason, she encourages coaches and leaders to develop not only their professional capabilities but also their emotional awareness and spiritual understanding.
Leadership, in her view, is ultimately an expression of service.
“Expand your understanding of who you are as a guiding light and a healer, using the power of Love in everything you do.”
That philosophy has remained remarkably consistent throughout Verlaine’s career, enabling her to build enduring relationships while helping countless individuals overcome limiting beliefs and reconnect with their own potential.
Adapting Through Change and Lifelong Learning
When Verlaine published her first book, Ending the Battle Within, in 1984, the publishing landscape demanded determination and resourcefulness. There were no online marketplaces, digital platforms or self-publishing tools to simplify the journey. Every stage, from printing to distribution, relied on personal effort and relationship-building.
Determined to give the book the best possible start, Verlaine attended a publishing conference where she learned that an endorsement from an established author could significantly strengthen its credibility. Through a mutual acquaintance, she was introduced to Louise Hay, one of the most respected voices in personal development.
After reading the manuscript, Hay offered thoughtful but honest feedback. Rather than simply endorsing the work, she encouraged Verlaine to restructure the chapters so they reflected the flow of her workshops.
Without hesitation, Verlaine spent the night revising the manuscript before sending the updated version the following morning. Hay not only praised the revised book but also shared advice that would permanently shape Verlaine’s career.
Instead of pursuing another publisher, she encouraged Verlaine to publish the book independently, recognizing that her extensive marketing background gave her the skills to build a successful publishing company.
That recommendation became the foundation of High Castle Publishing.
From there, Verlaine recalls entering what felt like an extraordinary flow of synchronicity. Industry professionals opened doors, including support from Ingram Distribution that helped place her books on bookstore shelves. She complemented those opportunities by speaking at conferences, conducting workshops and personally connecting with readers, often selling books after each event. As publishing evolved with the arrival of Amazon, she continued expanding her catalogue while embracing every technological advancement that allowed her work to reach wider audiences.
The experience reinforced a principle that continues to define her leadership today: openness to feedback, decisive action and the willingness to embrace change often create opportunities that cannot be planned.
That same mindset has enabled Verlaine to remain relevant in an industry undergoing constant transformation.
While coaching methodologies and technology continue to evolve, she believes authentic wisdom never becomes obsolete.
“The shortest answer is that I listen to my inner guidance, which is never outdated.”
Since what she describes as an expansion of consciousness in 1987, Verlaine has continued exploring new dimensions of awareness while maintaining an insatiable curiosity about human potential. Books, emerging research, educational videos and continuous learning remain central to her personal and professional development.
Far from resisting technological disruption, she actively embraces artificial intelligence as a valuable learning tool while continuing her lifelong exploration of psychology, quantum theory and the nature of consciousness. For Verlaine, progress comes from balancing timeless inner wisdom with an openness to new ideas, allowing her coaching philosophy to evolve without losing its human essence.
A Career Defined by Breakthrough Moments
Looking back, Verlaine sees her career not as a series of planned milestones but as a collection of defining experiences that continually broadened her perspective.
One of the earliest turning points came during her school years when she was selected to represent Carmel High School as Uruguay at the Model United Nations at the University of California, Berkeley. Until then, her ambitions pointed towards astronomy. She had dedicated herself to advanced mathematics, physics, Russian and German in preparation for a career in the space program.
The experience transformed her outlook.
For the first time, she recognized her ability to communicate ideas, negotiate effectively and influence people. Inspired by that discovery, she redirected her studies towards International Relations, setting the stage for a successful career in business leadership.
Another influential chapter unfolded during her time with the International Paper Company, where she travelled extensively while helping resolve conflicts between customer service and departments operating in isolation from one another.
One employee’s description of his workplace captured the challenge perfectly.
“I feel like I’m swimming in shark-infested waters, and there’s no land in sight.”
The comment became an enduring lesson in organizational leadership. Verlaine realized that business success depends as much on communication and collaboration as it does on operational performance.
Her corporate career reached another milestone when she became the first female executive at a Silicon Valley high-tech company during the early days of the personal computer revolution. Working with Intelligent Technologies, she secured contracts that introduced PCExpress to Fortune 500 companies before successfully selling the business to Logica in England.
She later joined Syntactics, where she helped position CrystalWriter as AT&T’s Word Processor of Choice, while establishing strategic relationships with organizations including Olivetti, NASA and numerous government departments.
Those achievements also positioned Verlaine as a respected technology educator. Speaking regularly at information technology conferences across the United States and Europe, she explained networking concepts and the emerging impact of personal computers, gaining valuable insight into the technological transformation that continues today.
Following her corporate success, Verlaine entered an entirely different chapter by teaching personal development throughout Southern California.
One unexpected invitation changed everything.
When a participant asked whether she would consider teaching in Japan, her immediate response was yes.
That decision led to six teaching engagements with ONE Network in Tokyo and Osaka, each lasting a month, before expanding into Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Bali and Italy.
Travelling extensively reinforced one belief that has remained central to her philosophy ever since.
“Although our cultures and languages are different, we are fundamentally one.”
The experience deepened her understanding that authentic transformation transcends nationality, language and culture because the aspirations that unite humanity are universal.
Creating Balance While Embracing New Beginnings
Behind Verlaine’s professional accomplishments lies a deeply personal story of resilience.
Alongside coaching, speaking, writing and publishing, she devoted the final two years of her husband’s life to caring for him as he battled an incurable lung disease. Their forty-five-year marriage, which she describes as a soulmate partnership, ended with his passing in September 2025.
Rather than allowing grief to define the next chapter of her life, Verlaine transformed it into a source of creative renewal.
She remodeled their home, prepared it for sale and relocated to Orange County, California, in June 2026, embracing change with the same optimism that has characterized every stage of her career.
Creativity continues to play an essential role in maintaining that balance.
Daily walks, photography, gardening and oil painting provide opportunities for reflection, healing and renewal. Beginning to paint at the age of seventy-five became yet another reminder that meaningful creativity has no age limit.
Her advice is simple yet deeply personal.
“Create something. Paint, sing, dance, photograph, build, sew, play music or make jewelry. Activate your creative self-expression.”
Meditation is equally important, allowing her to spend at least twenty minutes each day releasing stress while reconnecting with clarity, gratitude and love.
Looking ahead, Verlaine continues to embrace life with curiosity and purpose. A five-week journey through Italy represents not simply a holiday but a symbolic transition into a new chapter of personal growth.
Her ambitions for High Castle Publishing remain equally bold. She plans to train coaches worldwide in her Infusion Integration Process, expand the reach of The Power of Wholeness, adapt its principles for the corporate community and encourage influential leaders to explore the ideas presented in her latest book, A Planetary Vision, believing they can contribute to greater global harmony.
She also hopes to bring John Teressi’s Portals in Time: The Quest for Un-Old-Age to streaming audiences as a film series, extending transformational storytelling beyond books and workshops.
Looking towards the future of transformational coaching, Verlaine believes artificial intelligence will undoubtedly reshape learning and leadership. Yet she remains convinced that technology can never replace genuine human connection.
People may increasingly rely on AI, she says, but they will ultimately seek mentors capable of empathy, intuition and authentic understanding qualities that machines cannot fully replicate.
Her message to aspiring coaches, authors and purpose-driven entrepreneurs reflects the philosophy that has guided her own extraordinary journey.
“Be prepared to change direction. Keep learning. Laugh, love and experience life deeply. Every time you raise your consciousness, you help elevate the consciousness of the planet.”
For Verlaine, lasting transformation begins within. By embracing every aspect of oneself with compassion and living from a place of love, individuals not only reshape their own lives but also inspire meaningful change in the lives of others.
“Love is the answer to every question. It is the glue of the Universe. Be Love. Spread Love.”
